AI Usage & Voice Technology Disclosure

JennyTalk uses artificial intelligence and voice synthesis technology to deliver its core communication features. This disclosure explains what AI technologies we use, how they work, and what data they process.
1. Voice Synthesis — ElevenLabs
1.1 What It Does
JennyTalk uses ElevenLabs text-to-speech technology to convert phrase text into natural-sounding audio speech output. When you tap a communication button, the text of that phrase is sent to ElevenLabs to generate the audio you hear.
1.2 What Data Is Transmitted
Only the text content of the phrase is sent to ElevenLabs. No personal identifiers, names, account information, or user data are included in these requests.
1.3 Voice Storage
JennyTalk does not store voice recordings.
Audio is generated in real time and played through the device. We do not record, store, or retain any audio output generated by ElevenLabs on our servers.
1.4 ElevenLabs Data Practices
ElevenLabs may process phrase text in accordance with their own privacy policy. We have configured our integration to minimize data retention. For details, visit elevenlabs.io/privacy.
2. AI-Powered Phrase Suggestions
2.1 What It Does
JennyTalk Premium includes AI-powered phrase suggestions that recommend contextually relevant follow-up phrases based on what you've recently communicated. This helps build more natural conversational flow.
2.2 How It Works
When phrase suggestions are requested, the recent phrase context (not personal information) is sent to a large language model (LLM) API to generate relevant suggestions. Suggestions are returned and displayed in the app.
2.3 Usage Limits
AI-powered suggestions are subject to the Premium plan's monthly fair-use allowance. Current usage and limits are shown in the product when applicable.
2.4 No Personal Data in AI Requests
AI suggestion requests do not include your name, email address, user ID, or any other personal identifier. Only phrase text context is transmitted.
2.5 AI Limitations Disclaimer
AI-generated suggestions are automated and may not always be appropriate, accurate, or suitable for every individual. Users and supervising adults should review all AI-generated content.
3. Translation Services
JennyTalk supports 12 languages. When a language other than English is selected, phrase text may be translated before being sent to the voice synthesis engine. Translation is performed to ensure accurate speech output in the selected language.
4. What AI Is NOT Used For
- ❌ Profiling or targeting users for advertising
- ❌ Making decisions about user eligibility or access
- ❌ Analyzing or storing behavioral patterns for sale
- ❌ Generating any medical diagnoses or treatment recommendations
- ❌ Recording, analyzing, or retaining voice audio
5. Medical and Clinical Disclaimer
JennyTalk's AI features are communication assistance tools only. They are not medical devices, diagnostic systems, or substitutes for clinical speech therapy or professional medical advice.
AI-generated suggestions should never be used as a basis for medical or therapeutic decisions. Always consult a qualified speech-language pathologist or healthcare professional for clinical needs.
6. Opt-Out of AI Features
You can disable AI-powered phrase suggestions at any time in your account Settings. Voice synthesis (ElevenLabs) is a core part of the service and cannot be fully disabled, but you may switch to a system voice in Settings if preferred.
